Sentei Gata – Advancing Beyond the Basics

After mastering the foundations of Shitei Gata, students progress to the more advanced Sentei Gata. These kata are designed to test not only strength and speed, but also control, rhythm, and deeper understanding of Shotokan karate.

Sentei Gata challenge the karateka to apply their fundamentals at a higher level, preparing them for black belt training, competition, and advanced grading. They teach focus, spirit, and the ability to adapt under pressure — qualities every martial artist must develop.
