Sensei Bernard Dojo

We focus on Traditional Karate, Sport Karate, Self defence ,discipline and respect

Self Defense

At Karate Heidelberg & Nigel, self-defense is a core part of our training. We believe every student—young or old—should have the skills and confidence to protect themselves if needed. Through traditional Shotokan techniques, we teach practical awareness, effective responses, and calm under pressure. Our goal is not to promote violence, but to build strength, control, and safety through disciplined martial arts.

Discipline

Discipline is the foundation of true martial arts. At Karate Heidelberg & Nigel, we teach our students to set goals, stay focused, and push through challenges—both inside and outside the dojo. Through consistent training, students learn to manage their time, control their actions, and grow in confidence. Karate isn’t just about physical strength; it’s about building the mental strength to do what’s right, even when it’s hard.

Respect

At Karate Heidelberg & Nigel, every class begins and ends with respect. We bow to show gratitude—to our instructors, training partners, and the art itself. Respect teaches humility, patience, and discipline. It creates a safe, supportive environment where everyone can grow. In our dojo, learning karate means learning to treat others—and yourself—with dignity and honor.
