Our Two Types of Karate Events

At Sensei Bernard’s Dojo, we participate in two types of events throughout the year:

1. National Events
These events are open to all JKA dojos across South Africa. They bring together karateka from different regions to compete, learn, and grow. It’s a chance to meet new training partners, experience high-level competition, and represent all dojo’s on a bigger stage.

2. Dojo Events
These are exclusive to our dojo members and include important occasions such as gradings and prize-giving ceremonies. They celebrate student progress, recognize achievements, and help keep our dojo spirit strong.

Both event types are key to developing strong, confident karateka — and we encourage all our students to take part whenever possible.
